I recently found this list from 7th grade of just a few of my works in progress that year. I remember some of them--Happenings in Room 3-A was a chapter book about a third grade class, Double Diary included two girls' diaries showing their different interpretations of the same events, and Shpaväria was about a fictional country that I also invented some of the language for (but sorry, I'm no Tolkein! Though I am curious about the word "Tele-com" that appears next to the title, as this was the late 70s!). The bottom of the page lists the main characters from each work, some of whom seem to appear in more than one project. I know I wrote other things that year as well, including a series of mysteries (one about a holographic person--maybe I was before my time?) and several plays. One play, An Iowa Christmas, was about some poverty-stricken adults in Iowa (a place I don't recall ever visiting), trying to scrape together a decent Christmas celebration. That one caused my parents to hoot with laughter, tell me I knew nothing about adults, and say I should stick to writing about children. I guess I took their advice!
